The computer design of experiments is the ideal tool to perform parametric studies of a "response" around finite element calculations. Using appropriate graphical tools, it allows the relevant and effective exploitation of results with a limited computational cost. Furthermore it is possible to create an analytical model of the response (response surface), according to the studied parameters, so as to reach a quick and easy estimate. This solution is more time efficient than the finite element solution. This tool is however not to be put in all hands, as the results require a very critical analysis and several successive adjustments in order to fully exploit its potential.
